Ghaziabad Doctor gets death threat over supporting Hindu groups, probe on
The caller also told Vats that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be able to protect him.
Ghaziabad: A physician in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad has allegedly received threat calls from a US based number, warning him not to support Hindu outfits or else he will be beheaded.
In his complaint on Monday, Dr. Arvind Vats, who has been running his clinic for two decades near the Lohia Nagar police outpost under the Sihani Gate police station limits, said he received threatening calls from a mobile number that had a United States number, Circle Officer Alok Dubey said.
Vats alleged that he first got a call from the number on the night of September 1. He did not answer the call as he was asleep.
He again got a call from the number on September 7, and the caller threatened him with dire consequences if he supported Hindu organisations, Vats said in the complaint.
The caller also told Vats that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be able to protect him.
A probe in the matter is on, Dubey said.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a doctor associated with a Government Medical College & Hospital (GMC&H) had lost Rs 1.75 lakh after a woman allegedly threatened to make his 'obscene' videos viral on social media. The doctor accepted the friend request from a woman identified as Payal Joshi on Facebook. However, it had been reported that the woman indulged in sexual talks with him, following which she asked him to share his mobile number.
She reportedly began blackmailing the doctor and demanded him to deposit money in a particular account in return for not showing his videos to his family members. He then deposited Rs 1.75 lakh to the account.
