'Goli maar denge': MP's medical college doctor alleges molestation, threat during duty, BJP youth leader, aide booked

Molestation
Bhopal: A woman postgraduate doctor at a government medical college in Madhya Pradesh has alleged that she was molested and threatened with death by a political leader while attending to an emergency patient during a night shift, following which the police have booked him and his associate under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Narrating the incident, the doctor alleged that she was treating a poisoning patient when one of the accused BJP Yuva Morcha state executive member, allegedly touched her inappropriately. When she and other hospital staff objected, the accused allegedly threatened to shoot them.
"I was treating a poisoning patient when he touched me inappropriately. When I and other hospital staff objected, they threatened us, saying, 'Goli maar denge' (we will shoot you all)," she said.
The doctor further alleged that when she warned the accused that she would lodge an FIR, they remained unfazed and told the staff to "do whatever you want" before fleeing the hospital.

The incident led to protests by doctors and nursing staff at the medical college, who stopped work and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. While the protest was later withdrawn after assurances from the police and district administration, the Madhya Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (JUDA) warned that junior doctors across the state would launch a statewide work boycott if the accused are not arrested within 24 hours.
As per NDTV media report, the incident took place in the early hours of Thursday inside Bundelkhand Medical College (BMC), Sagar, where a female patient was brought for emergency treatment around 2 am with two men. Hospital staff alleged that even before the patient reached the hospital, repeated phone calls were being made regarding her treatment. During the course of treatment, two men accompanying the patient allegedly began misbehaving with the medical staff.
Further, it was alleged that the accused also misbehaved with a male junior resident during the altercation. Several resident doctors claimed that incidents of patients and attendants behaving inappropriately with healthcare workers have become increasingly common, raising concerns over workplace safety, reports TOI.
Additional Superintendent of Police Narendra Solanki said, "A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita based on the complaint of the female doctor. Considering the seriousness of the allegations, efforts are being made to arrest both accused at the earliest."
Raising questions about the hospital's security, doctors and nursing staff alleged that security personnel were present during the incident but they did not intervene. They demanded an inquiry into the security lapse and action against those responsible.
