Indore: A 30-year-old doctor has alleged that a housekeeping employee molested her inside a hospital in Indore's Vijay Nagar area during the early hours of Thursday. Police have registered a case against the accused and launched an investigation based on her complaint.
According to police officials, the incident occurred during the early hours of the morning when the doctor was resting in the hospital’s designated restroom. In her complaint, she alleged that a housekeeping employee quietly entered the room without authorisation.

The doctor further alleged that when she questioned his presence, the accused allegedly grabbed her hand and attempted to cover her mouth with his other hand. The doctor resisted and managed to push him away before running out of the room while shouting for help.
Hearing her cries, members of the hospital's nursing staff rushed to the spot. However, the accused had already fled by the time they arrived.
Following the incident, the doctor informed the hospital management and senior officials. Police were subsequently called to the hospital. The doctor later lodged a formal complaint against the accused at the police station, according to Bhaskar English.
Officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. Speaking to the Free Press Journal, Vijay Nagar police station in-charge Chandrakant Patel said the accused has been arrested and further action is being taken against him.
The case has raised concerns regarding workplace safety and security arrangements within healthcare institutions.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting a postgraduate doctor at Sapthagiri Medical College, Bengaluru, last month while returning to her paying guest accommodation after completing her duty hours.
