Woman doctor allegedly harassed in Gurugram, car windshield smashed; one arrested

Gurugram- In a shocking incident, a doctor from Sohna, who was driving with her husband in South City 2, was allegedly molested, abused, and threatened by two men who also smashed her car's windscreen during a road rage incident while attempting to overtake their vehicle.
The incident took place around 4 PM on Tuesday, and one of the accused has been arrested. Notably, this is the second such case within a week where women have been sexually harassed in road rage incidents in Gurugram.
According to reports, the couple had visited South City 2 for some work when two individuals in a car with Delhi registration numbers suddenly intercepted their vehicle near Shishpal Vihar. As soon as the doctor stopped the car, they began harassing her.
When she threatened to call the police, the accused became even more aggressive; they verbally abused her and prevented her from driving away. Subsequently, as bystanders began to gather, the accused allegedly attacked her car and fled, issuing threats of further violence.
Following the incident, the woman immediately lodged a complaint at the Sadar Police Station. Based on her complaint, the police registered an FIR under sections 324(4) (mischief causing damage), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 74 (assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman), 75(2) (sexual harassment), 79 (words or acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Speaking to TOI, police spokesperson Sandeep Turan stated that the arrested individual has been identified as Paras Thakran, a resident of Malibu Town in Sector 47. Additionally, the police had yet to identify the vehicles involved in the incident.
Lawyer Suresh Dutt Kaushik, representing the doctor, claimed that the police did not investigate the incident properly and granted bail to the accused within two hours without even securing the case property, reports PTI.
He stated, "We will lodge a complaint with the Police Commissioner."
