Hapur Assistant Professor Gynaecology detained over alleged terror links

Hapur: An Assistant Professor in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at GS Medical College in Pilkhuwa, Hapur, has been detained by the Delhi Police Special Cell for suspected links to a terror module.

The accused doctor, originally from Jammu and Kashmir and is currently working in Hapur, is accused of influencing and brainwashing medical students to join the module.

According to the police, he used his position as a doctor as a cover. Investigators have also found clues suggesting his connection to the Delhi bomb blasts, including a possible role in supplying explosives and building networks.

It is believed that several major secrets will be revealed during his interrogation, and some of his accomplices may also be exposed soon.

With his detention, the investigating agency has now detained five doctors with Uttar Pradesh links for their alleged involvement in a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)-inspired terror module made up of medical professionals popularly known as the 'White collar terror module'.

As per The Daily Jagran, He joined GS Medical College as a Senior Resident on April 6, 2024, before being promoted to Assistant Professor. He previously worked at Al Falah University in Faridabad from October 6, 2022, to April 5, 2024.

Medical Dialogues yesterday reported that a cardiologist from the state-run Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial (GSVM) Medical College, Kanpur, was detained by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) during the investigation into the Delhi Red Fort blast case. The accused, a 32-year-old PG medico, was taken into custody from an undisclosed location. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team searched his rented accommodation at Ashok Nagar in Nazirabad, seized his mobile phone and laptop for forensic examination, and took him to Delhi for questioning.
