Harassment: Medical prof arrested for allegedly misbehaving with woman in pub
Chennai: Professor of Dindigul government medical college has been arrested for allegedly harassing a woman under the influence of alcohol at a pub on Wednesday night.
The woman is none other than the wife of a Coast Guard (CG) commandant. The incident took place when the victim along with her husband came to a pub attached to a star hotel. Surya on the dance floor tried to get close to the victim.

DT Next reports that under the influence of alcohol, Surya Prakash continued harassing the victim despite repeated warnings. As a result, the police control room was alerted.
"The accused who was inebriated, despite the repeated warning, continued to harass her. The police control room was alerted and the accused was detained," said a police officer.
Later, Teynampet police reached the spot and took Surya for further investigation. The police have registered a case.

In a similar case, the Medical Dialogues team earlier reported that the Principal Medical Officer (PMO) associated with the Sonepat General Hospital was suspended for allegedly harassing a female medical officer working in the facility.
The complainant stated that the PMO misbehaved with her around six months ago. After she filed a complaint, an inquiry committee was set up. The investigation officer HC Suraina told the daily that the PMO was arrested and was produced in the court on November 21. He was later released on bail.
The headquarters of the PMO was fixed at the office of the Director-General, Health Services of Haryana in Panchkula during the time period of suspension.
Also, a similar incident where a police officer was arrested for misbehaving with an on-duty doctor in an inebriated state, while threatening to shoot her and the staff at the Samrala Civil Hospital.
