Haryana Medical Officer arrested for accepting Rs 3 lakh bribe for empanelment certificate
Chandigarh: In a significant development, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Medical Officer (MO) posted at the Municipal Corporation Faridabad, on charges of accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 3 lakh.
The medical officer stands accused of soliciting the bribe in exchange for facilitating the issuance of a certificate of empanelment as a bulk waste generator. This incident marks yet another instance of corruption within the ranks of public officials, dealing a blow to the integrity of government institutions.
According to the UNI report, a government spokesperson stated that the ACB formulated a plan and apprehended the MO red-handed while accepting the bribe.

According to a government spokesperson, the ACB meticulously crafted a plan to ensnare the accused, culminating in the accused apprehension while allegedly accepting the illicit gratification. The operation was conducted transparently, with witnesses present to corroborate the proceedings.
The arrest transpired during a late-evening raid orchestrated by the ACB team, underscoring the bureau's unwavering commitment to combat corruption at all levels. An FIR (First Information Report) has been lodged against the accused at the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Faridabad, initiating legal proceedings against him.
