Himachal Pradesh: PG ENT student of Tanda Medical College killed in road accident
Dharamshala: In an unfortunate incident, a PG medico of Rajendra Prasad Medical College in Tanda lost his life in a hit-and-run accident. An investigation is on to nab the accused.
The doctor has been identified as Piyush, a PG student in the ENT department of the Tanda medical college.
The incident goes back to November 30, Wednesday night when Dr Piyush was returning back riding his scooty with Dr Indira. The duo was heading home after having dinner at a restaurant owned by his college friend.

In the middle of his ride, a truck from the opposite direction hit the scooty leaving Dr Indira severely injured and Dr Piyush lying dead on the spot. Later, civilians took Dr Indira to Tanda Medical College where she was undergoing treatment.
However, at the time of the incident, the truck driver fled the spot but the police spotted the accused while investigating the CCTV footage and identified the vehicle. The accused is currently on the run and police are trying to nab him, reports, India posts.
Meanwhile, the police have also interrogated the owner of the restaurant as part of the investigation process. A case has been registered against the unknown accused under Sections 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 304(A) (Causing death by negligence) of IPC.
On the other hand, the Resident Doctors Association of Medical College Tanda has raised their concerns regarding the incident. Demanding strict action, the association has urged the police administration to arrest the accused driver immediately.
