Homeopathic practitioner treats COVID patient with allopathy, booked under IPC 304 after death
Ujjain: A homeopathic practitioner, who allegedly provided allopathy treatment to a patient infected with Novel Coronavirus, along with the director of a hospital has been booked under section IPC 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) after the patient eventually succumbed to the infection.
This comes in wake of a complaint moved by the father of the deceased against the director of the hospital located at Nanakheda and the doctor, alleging that the patient died due to negligence of the duo during the treatment.
The complainant is a lawyer and resident of Nazarali Marg, who had admitted his son in the hospital on April 17 this year as he was diagnosed with Covid-19. The complainant alleged that the doctor gave his son an allopathic treatment despite holding a degree in homeopathy.

The patient was a diabetic person, and the complainant stated that the family had already informed the hospital about this, however, the doctor continued to provide allopathic treatment to the patient. Subsequently, the patient died due to the infection on April 21.
The Free Press Journal reports that the CMHO panel found negligence on the part of the hospital management after the family lodged a complaint in the police station.
He further added that the wrong statements and records were provided by the hospital management to the police and the panel of doctors.
The father of the deceased mentioned that he is yet to know about the report. He added that the patient was undergoing the treatment from three expert allopathic doctors. He also stated that he have prescriptions given by the doctors in the record.
The complainant added that he would take an opinion from a legal adviser after receiving the report once.
Additional SP Amarendra Singh told Granthshala that a case has been registered against both of them. Arrest will be made soon.
