Solan: In a shocking incident, a second-year student pursuing postgraduation in medicine from MMU Medical College, Solan, was booked for allegedly making a video of a female employee while she was changing her clothes for the night shift.
The doctor reportedly made the video while the employee was changing her clothes for the night shift.
The employee suspected him to be taking a video as she saw a camera flash. SP Virender Sharma informed the Tribune India, "The said video has been deleted by the accused from the cellphone, which will be sent to the forensic lab for retrieving the data. The accused is a second-year student. The CCTV camera footage is being analysed by the police."
The accused was booked under Section 354C of the IPC and Section 66E of the IT Act, and he was detained for interrogation. The medical college is affiliated with Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Kumarhatti-Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the instances of ragging that had come to light in Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, where a junior MBBS student was harassed by senior students. Taking cognizance of the matter, the college authorities have instructed to register a case against three senior students who are third-year students pursuing the MBBS course. The matter came to light after a junior student of the college lodged a confidential complaint against the senior students. Approaching the Anti-Ragging Cell of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the complainant student had informed about the incidents of ragging that he had to face. Taking note of the issue, the college management immediately called a meeting of the Anti-Ragging Committee and talked to the junior student who had filed the complaint.
