Indian doctors Driving Global Recognition through Innovation and cutting-edge technologies: Om Birla

New Delhi: India's medical infrastructure is not only of high quality and rigorous standards but also widely recognised for being accessible, affordable, and dependable, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said.
“This is because of the achievements of the physicians for having earned a reputation for excellence across the globe because of their commitment and competence," he said, after inaugurating the 7th Annual International Conference of the Innovative Physicians Forum – IPF Medicon 2025 here, according to a UNI news report.
“As a result, India has firmly established itself as a major centre for medical tourism. Patients from various countries increasingly travel to India, drawn by the promise of advanced treatment, compassionate care, and cost-effective medical solutions,” said the Speaker.
Birla said that Initiatives in the sector have made healthcare services more inclusive and patient-centric, and lauded the progress made in health outreach, digital health technologies, and affordable treatment options.

Birla further said that today, even as developed countries face growing health challenges, Indian doctors are enhancing their global reputation by embracing innovation and cutting-edge technologies.
He added that “The forum serves as a vital platform to discuss the latest research, emerging technologies, and innovations in the medical field. It explores how tools like artificial intelligence can be used to create a better healthcare system and address both current and future challenges in medicine.”
Despite limited resources, the dedication, service, and sacrifice of doctors, paramedical staff and healthcare workers have enabled India to effectively manage the Covid-19 pandemic and provide successful treatment, he said, addressing a gathering comprised of medical representatives from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and the UK, among others.
The Speaker also highlighted the achievements made by India in the sector, asserting that the country is developing as a centre for pharmaceuticals and medical research, mentioning advancements in drug manufacturing, vaccine production, and biomedical research within the country.
