ICMR-NIOH to Host Indo-US Conference on Impact of Climate Change on Health

Ahmedabad: The Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute of Occupational Health (ICMR-NIOH), Ahmedabad, in collaboration with ICMR-National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (ICMR-NIREH) and CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), is set to host the Indo-US Conference on Climate Change Impacts on Occupational and Environmental Health (CliCON OEH2025) from February 26-28, 2025, at Narayani Heights, Ahmedabad.
CliCON OEH2025 will bring over 300 scientists, academicians, policymakers, environmental health experts, and industry leaders to address the critical challenges posed by climate change on occupational and environmental health.

The conference will feature 20 distinguished plenary speakers sharing expert insights on adaptation strategies, risk assessment frameworks, and policy interventions, along with 110 scientific presentations by young researchers showcasing emerging research in the field.
With a strong focus on scientific evidence, mitigation strategies, and sustainable solutions, the conference will serve as a key platform for advancing discussions on climate-induced health risks and fostering climate-resilient workplaces and communities.
The conference will be inaugurated by Secretary, Department of Health Research (DHR) & Director General, ICMR, Dr. Rajiv Bahl; Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Ahmedabad West Zone, Shri Dinesh Makwana; Hon’ble Mayor of Ahmedabad, Smt. Pratibhaiben Jain, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Asarwa, Smt. Darshanaben Vaghela and Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Maninagar, Shri Amulbhai Bhatt.
The conference will serve as a crucial forum for dialogue and collaboration, helping shape future policies and research directions in the fight against climate change-related health hazards.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has called for proposals for the joint development and commercialization of a vaccine against typhoid and paratyphoid, calling for expressions of interest from eligible organizations, companies, and manufacturers.
