JIPMER Doctor arrested for selling Ketamine Injections in exchange for Ganja
Puducherry: A doctor attached to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has recently been arrested among three others for supplying Ketamine injection used for Anesthesia during surgery in exchange for Ganja.
As per a recent report by UNI, the doctor not only used Ganja but also supplied it to other doctors in JIPMER.
On Thursday, all the accused including the JIPMER doctor were arrested by the police on charges of selling Ganja and drugs.
The incident came to light following a raid conducted by the police a few days ago on a lodge at 100 feet road, where the cops arrested a few persons indulged in prostitution.

During the raid, police found a girl from Bengaluru and a youth from Nettapakkam in an inebriated condition and seized Ganja and drugs from the room.
The subsequent inquiry with the youth Devanathan led to Felix (32), Parthasarathi (23) Manikandan(29), and the medical practitioner associated with JPMER who were connected with the sale of Ganja and drugs.
Talking to newspersons last night, Superintendent of police Logeswaran stated that following interrogation of the two arrested from the lodge, a Russian national was arrested.
On interrogating him, he revealed the involvement of four others who were arrested yesterday.
As per UNI, Logeswaran said that the Jipmer doctor supplied Ketamine injection used for Anesthesia during surgery to Felix and collected Ganja from him. The doctor not only used Ganja but also supplied it to other doctors in Jipmer.
He said that Ganja, Ketamine, LSD were seized from the possession of Felix and others.
Further investigation is on to find out whether any other network was involved in the crime, the SP stated.
