J&K: Some Doctors violate job posting orders
The order which was issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi Principal Secretary to the Government Health & Medical Education Department had stated that disciplinary proceedings would be taken without any further notice in case of non-compliance with the government order, by any of the doctors.
Karnah: Days after the Health and Medical Education Department in Jammu and Kashmir recently issued transfer and adjustment orders for 73 doctors, some doctors have reportedly not joined for their respective duties.
Four doctors who were posted in the medical zone Karnah have not joined their duties despite the order being passed 13 days back, reports the Greater Kashmir.
The order, which was issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to the Government Health & Medical Education Department, had stated that disciplinary proceedings would be taken without any further notice in case of non-compliance with the government order, by any of the doctors. An official said that since the doctors are in service, they are required to join the Karnah medical zone. He added, "They were selected for post-graduation during service, and after completion of their degrees, they were awaiting posting. Had they been newly pointed, the matter was different, and they have no choice other than joining at their place of posting."
A doctor was deployed at Sub District Hospital Tanghdar as per a separate order by the Director of Health Services, Kashmir passed on 18th July, who never joined duty after he came to drop his joining report. Similarly, two new doctors, whose selection list was published in June this year and were appointed under the National Health Mission for Karnah medical zone, also did not join.
According to District Development Council Member (DDC) Karnah Advocate Najma Hamid, several orders related to the posting of doctors and paramedics in the Karnah medical zone were passed, but, "not a single order was implemented on the ground with the result people in Karnah continue to suffer due to lack of better health care." She told the Greater Kashmir, "We are fed up now with such kind of orders, we will believe in such orders only after the doctors will join their place of posting in Karnah, otherwise the order is a hoax."
