Karnataka: Plastic Surgeon duped of Rs 11.66 lakh under pretext of job in Dubai
Bengaluru: A fraud case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed against a Kolkata-based scammer for allegedly taking nearly 11.66 lakh from a doctor here on the pretext of providing a job in Dubai.
The accused has been identified as Kiran Singh, who was posing as a job consultancy company executive located in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The victim is a plastic surgeon aged 46 and a resident of Brigade Panorama Apartment in Kengeri.

The history goes back to last year when the victim received a call from the accused offering her a suitable position in a hospital in Dubai. Getting convinced by the offer of the accused, she agreed to register herself with his company. She paid a total of Rs 5000 through online transactions.
Before making the transaction, she never once met with the accused. Between July and August last year, she made multiple transactions to the bank account provided by the accused. In order to verify her identity, the accused asked for payments to be made accordingly. She also paid money to verify her driving licence, medical degree and No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Further, she went to the Kumbalgodu police station to register a complaint against the accused after she started being suspicious when the website she had earlier applied for the post of consultant plastic surgeon at a hospital was inactive for three months. By believing the accused over the phone, she lost around 11.66 lakh.

An investigating officer told TNIE, "The victim got suspicious after the website of the said consultant firm stopped functioning for the last three months. Her repeated phone calls also went unanswered. The victim stated in her complaint that she lost Rs 11.66 lakh,"
The police have registered a case and an investigation is underway to nab the accused.
