Kerala based Paediatrician earning praise for neatly handwritten prescription
The doctor has gained many fans on social media for his amazing clear, and understandable handwriting on prescription.
Palakkad: A Kerala-based doctor has captured the attention of the netizens after his clear handwritten prescription went viral on social media.
The doctor has been identified as Dr. Nithin Narayanan, a paediatrician at a Community Health Centre in Palakkad who has become a well-known public figure with his unique style of writing prescriptions with block letters. Dr Nithin received praise for his legible handwriting on prescriptions as it's rare to find such prescriptions from a doctor.
He completed his MBBS from Thrissur Medical College and MD from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) and has been working at the CHC for the last four years.
The prescription was written for a 4-year-old Ashvika and went viral on September 20; the doctor has gained many fans on social media for his amazing clear, and understandable handwriting.

Speaking to Asianet, Dr. Nithin said "I like writing and had good handwriting since I was a child. My sister used to make me write in four-lined notebooks when I was a child. I love writing, so even when I write a prescription I try to write in block letters."

He added that he has tried to maintain the same while writing prescriptions as well. Even after his studies were over, he maintained his writing style through copybook exercises, The News Minute reports.
When asked if pharmacists find it easier to read his handwriting, he told, "Pharmacists must be used to many types of handwriting, and mine would also be the same for them."
Explaining further about the appreciation he receives from his patients, he said, "Yes, I know about the complaints about doctors' handwriting being unreadable. Maybe because I love to write, I write my prescriptions in block letters. The other doctors write illegibly because maybe they are busy. I try my best to write prescriptions legibly even when I'm busy. Patients often appreciate this."
