The disturbing incident dates back to December 2023, when the girl, then 14 years old, visited the doctor’s house with her parents seeking counselling support. According to the complaint, the doctor allegedly hugged and sexually assaulted the minor during her fourth visit. The girl did not report the incident immediately but revealed the traumatic experience earlier this year during a counselling session at her school.
Based on her disclosure, a case was initially registered by the Chandera police.
The investigation was later transferred to the Hosdurg police as the abuse occurred under their jurisdiction. The accused faces charges under the POCSO Act, reports the Hindu.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a doctor from Chicalim was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at his clinic for two months by calling him multiple times and inappropriately touching him under the pretext of treating his rashes. According to a complaint from the boy's mother, the doctor inappropriately touched her son after requesting that he remove his clothing. Furthermore, she alleged that the doctor instructed her son not to disclose the matter to anyone.
