KGMU senior resident doctor files harassment complaint against teacher, probe ordered
In the complaint, the student accused his teacher of indecent approach, engaging him in personal chores, and changing the focus of his research topic, among others.
Lucknow: A senior resident doctor of King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, has allegedly accused a teacher of harassment charges. The administration has set up an internal probe into the matter.
The development comes after the student in the geriatric mental health department wrote a 12-page complaint letter and submitted it to the resident doctors' welfare association (RDWA).
In the complaint, the student accused his teacher of indecent approach, engaging him in personal chores, and changing the focus of his research topic, among others.
He further alleged that his marks were deducted in viva voce despite a good academic track record, including top rank in the NEET super speciality entrance exam.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that a Kakinada-based private hospital, Ramya Hospital, had reported having treated a woman for eight months for her pregnancy, which was later revealed to be non-existent. The woman has been identified as 26-year-old Vaddi Mahalakshmi and her husband, Satyanarayana, who lives in Yanam. The patient's relatives alleged that the hospital lied about the woman's pregnancy and cheated them of money. In contrast, the hospital alleged that the woman was going through mental health issues because she pretended to be pregnant.
When the woman didn't experience labor pains after the doctor's given due date of September 22, she was taken to Gokavaram primary health centre as suspicions arose amongst the family members, where they performed a scan on her. The scan revealed that she was not pregnant.
