Maha Governor awards Psychologist Dr Raakesh Kriplani as Corona Warrior for Mental Health
Nagpur: Psychologist, Prof Dr Rakesh Kriplani has recently been felicitated and awarded as Corona Warrior for Mental Health during the first and the second wave of COVID by the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari at Raj Bhavan.
Pioneer Cyber Psychologist of Asia, Dr Kriplani was honoured with the award for his dedication and contribution in creating awareness among the masses regarding several aspects of COVID including social distancing screening, anger control at quarantine center, and so on.
Prof Kriplani is a Postgraduate in Psychology and a Ph.D. in cyber Psychology, as well as a practicing psychologist at Nagpur. He practiced in major cities for the last 20 years as a Psychologist, Cyber Psychologist, HR Trainer, Motivational speaker, and social contributor. He represented Asia and India at the World Health Innovation Summit for Covid-19 in India complying with the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. He has been instrumental in bringing Cyber psychology to India and trained more than 500 psychologists for cyber psychology.
In collaboration with Nagpur police and with the support of Sandesh Foundation, he provided counseling to the patients of all quarantine centers of Nagpur during the first and second wave of COVID which showed miraculous results in maintaining the mental peace of the victims. He delivered sessions daily at quarantined centers for better compliance of the suspected patients at Centre.
Moreover, he initiated a regular column in leading newspapers for 4 months with the help of Dr Nilesh Bharne, the former Add Joint commissioner of Police Nagpur to give a proper explanation on some myths about COVID and thus improvimg quality of life. He contributed greatly in bringing up 'Manno-sarthi' post COVID management program for Uttarakhand Government with the National health mission.
He serves as the National President of the Indian Cyber Psychology Association which has members all over India working in the field of cyber psychology creating awareness. As a social initiative, he launched a social awareness program SAVDHAAN@ NAGPUR with the leading newspaper DAINIK BHASKAR to create social awareness about cyber crime and psychology.
Taking cognizance of the situation of mental condition and the increasing tendency of suicide among the frontline workers like doctors and police, he also initiated a free online program for suicide prevention with Nagpur police. Further, in order to help frontline health workers to handle their stress, he initiated a stress management program free of cost which proved beneficial for the medical professionals. Free mental health counseling was provided to those who lost their family members to COVID. A team of 20 members, under the guidance of the doctor, launched a helpline pan India from 20th March to April 21 to help people to deal with their mental issues.
He has delivered 1600 workshops with 500 organizations IN 15 states including many schools, colleges and various companies till date. His seminars and workshops are highly participative and action-oriented. As an innovative synchronized program with schools, he launched the program SEEDS with Bhartiya Vidya Bhavans School where around 250 sessions per year are organized for teachers, and students to address the mental issues of school children.
The Governor of Maharashtra appreciated his achievements and his dedication for developing the field of cyber psychology and while conferring him the honour of Corona Warrior for Mental health, encouraged him to continue serving the society.
The doctor received the award in the presence of Member of Parliament Shri Ashok Nete, MP Gadchiroli, Maharastra Medical Council Vice President Dr Vinky Rughwani, Dr Raj Vakil Siddiqui chairman Manav Seva Lokkalyan Mahasangh, and member of HRD, reports Nagpur Today.
