Medical Negligence? Typhoid patient dies within 18 hours at Paras Hospital
Gurugram: A tragic case of alleged medical negligence has emerged from Paras Hospital, Gurugram, where the hospital and its doctors have been accused of causing the death of a young woman just 18 hours after she was admitted with a fever. The incident gained widespread attention after a social media post detailing the case went viral.
The deceased was a bright engineering graduate and a gold medalist in B.Tech. She had recently secured a job at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and was looking forward to a promising future.
According to a social media post by the deceased elder sister that went viral, she was admitted to the hospital on January 25, 2025, with a fever and low platelet count, suspected to be typhoid. However, within 18 hours of hospitalization, she tragically passed away on January 26.

The family has accused the hospital of prioritizing profit over patient care as they charged Rs 3 lakh for the treatment. They alleged that she was unnecessarily shifted to the ICU and placed on a ventilator, making her condition critical instead of improving it.
Sharing the ordeal, the devastated elder sister took to 'X' and posted a thread. She wrote, "She walked into the hospital with fever and low platelets, and in less than 18 hours, she died. They made her case critical to make money and, in the end, couldn't manage her situation."
"She was a brilliant girl, gold medalist in her graduation (http://B.tech AI ML). Recently got a job at TCS, She had just started her life & was extremely happy. But this happiness of hers didn't last even for a month. It's a very tough time for our family. She was the youngest in our family. She was our darling. We lost a gem. We trusted the doctors but they did all the experiments on her," she continued.
The family is now seeking justice, urging authorities to take action against the hospital to prevent such incidents from happening again. "The culprits should be punished so that they may not repeat the same with others as they did with my sister," she added.
In another reply post to Paras Health's advertisement on 'X', she wrote, "I visited this hospital & within 24 hrs my sister died without any serious illness(She only had weakness due to typhoid & less platelets). They gave us ONLY provisional reports With no letterhead, no doctor name etc.(Instead they mentioned all sorts of illnesses)& took Rs 3 lakhs."
In response, the official page of Paras Health said, "We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your feedback. Through her posts, the elder sister urged the netizens to pray for peace and justice for the deceased. She demanded support from the netizens to seek justice and deliver punishment to the culprits.
Reacting to the viral post, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini asked the elder sister to share their contact details via email for further investigation. "Please share your contact number here or email at smgtgrievance[at]gmail[dot]com mentioning your contact number and X / Twitter id," he shared a post on 'X'.
