Medinirai medical college finds a new acting principal in Surgeon Dr Ram Das Nagesh
Medininagar: Filling up the vacancy left behind with the retirement of the previous principal, surgeon Dr Ram Das Nagesh, the Associate professor in the Department of Surgery of the Medinirai medical college ( also known as Palamu Medical College) has recently taken charge as the Acting Principal
Medinirai medical college at Pokhraha in Medininagar, formerly Daltonganj is a full-fledged tertiary referral Government Medical college, which was established in the year 2019. The college offers the degree Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) courses and has around 100 MBBS seats. It is affiliated with the Nilamber-Pitamber University and is recognized by the National Medical Commission.
Dr Ram Das Nagesh has taken the change from previous principal Dr Shailendra Kumar who retired on September 30, 2022
Speaking to lagatar24. com, Dr. Nagesh said, "I am just a stop gap principal of this medical college," adding, "I do not know how long I will be here." He stated that after the retiring principal Dr Shailendra Kumar handed over the charge to him, he took it over immediately. He had been working as acting principal since October 1.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about the acute shortage of staff at Jharkhand Medical College including the Palamu Medical College. Last month, the Jharkhand government had announced walk-in interviews as part of its process to fill up the vacant posts of senior residents (SR) and tutors in its five medical colleges. Around 100 posts of Senior Residents (66) and tutors (34) for which the walk-in interview was held on September 16 at the RCH campus, Namkum, at 11 am.
The hospitals which are suffering an acute shortage of Senior Residents and tutors in different departments of clinical and non-clinical against sanctioned posts include Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital Dumka, Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital Hazaribagh, Mednirai Medical College Hospital Palamu but also the two old colleges Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur and Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad,
