MP Govt doctors threaten stir, seek Dynamic Assured Career Progression scheme
Bhopal: Demanding Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP) for government doctors in Madhya Pradesh, the government and autonomous doctors’ federation under ‘Chikitsa Bachao - Chikitsak Bachao' have warned of going on a joint strike from next week.
Dr Rakesh Malviya, secretary of the Medical Education Officers Association, said, "All five organisations will hold a combined stir by wearing black bands from February 15 and it will further escalate if our demands are not met."
On Tuesday, the government doctors from around five departments of Madhya Pradesh travelled across the state for their 'Chikitsak Sampark Yatra' and finished it at the Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal.
Under the ‘Chikitsa Bachao - Chikitsak Bachao' campaign, the MP Government and autonomous doctors’ federation completed a 13-day state-wide mobilization rally and reached Bhopal. The rally had begun from Gwalior on January 27, 2023, covering almost all the districts like Bhind, Morena, Mandla, Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Vidhisha, Neemuch, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, among others.
The planned strike by around 8,800 doctors, including government doctors working in PHC, CHC, district hospitals and medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh would affect the health services in the state. The doctors planning the strike are from the MP Directorate of Medical Education, MP health department, Gas Relief department, ESI and home department, reports the Times of India.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a warning issued by the Odisha Medical Service Association (OMSA) to stop working as a form of protest against the state government over the latter's failure to implement the doctors' long pending demand for a promotion scheme, 'Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP)'. The doctors had also threatened to not cooperate in implementing national programmes until their demands were met.
