MP Gynaecologist suspended over WhatsApp status allegedly targeting BJP MLA

Rajgarh: A female gynaecologist in Rajgarh district has been suspended after a controversial WhatsApp status she posted caused a major stir in the health department. The post was seen as a veiled dig at local BJP MLA Amar Singh Yadav.
Dr Akanksha Singh, who worked at the District Hospital Rajgarh for several years, was recently transferred to Neemuch. After joining her new post, she put up a WhatsApp status on May 27 that appeared to indirectly criticise the MLA.
The status read- “Remember, at your own expense and your desired place…Note: The respectable person who had written on the letterhead with great enthusiasm that I should be transferred, should pick up his application from the dustbin, it is still lying there."

The post quickly went viral and reached BJP MLA Amar Singh Yadav. Taking serious note of it, he wrote to the Health Commissioner. The Health Department acted swiftly and suspended Dr Singh the same day. She has now been assigned to Khargone as her new headquarters.
The official order mentioned that the suspension was done under Rule 3 of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1966, for behaviour that was found to be against the official duties of government servants.
According to a News 18 report, Dr Akanksha is reported to have arranged her transfer to the District Hospital Neemuch, allegedly at her own expense. However, her subsequent WhatsApp status proved to be problematic.
Before this incident, BJP MLA Amar Singh Yadav complained to the Chief Minister and Health Commissioner about irregularities in her duty during her tenure at the District Hospital Rajgarh.
After the suspension, MLA Amar Singh Yadav stated that he had informed the officials about the incidents at Rajgarh District Hospital and affirmed that suspension action was taken promptly.
“I will not tolerate any incidents in the area that could affect the lives of common citizens," he emphasised.
