NMCH doctor missing case: Police recovers CCTV footage, no trace of doctor
Patna: Six days after the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital doctor went missing in mysterious circumstances, Patna police have not yet been able to discover the missing man and claimed that they had recovered the car left by the doctor at a bridge on Sunday.
During their probe into this case, police said they found a CCTV camera at Mahatma Gandhi Setu bridge over the river Ganga in Patna that was from a construction company and found the footage.
“According to the footage, around 7:38 am on Saturday, the doctor’s car was spotted near the bridge. The car was later recovered by the police,” Kamya Mishra, ASP Sadar Patna told ANI.

“The doctor left the car at Mahatma Gandhi Setu,” the ASP said.
SHO of Patrakar Nagar police station, Manoranjan Bharti told TOI, "He parked the car near pillar number 46 and walked towards Hajipur on foot. The car was later recovered by the police. The footage was recovered from a camera installed at a construction company near the bridge. No force was used and it was not a case of kidnapping. The police is further probing the case."
Investigating the matter in depth, the police officers who are in charge of the case claimed that the doctor may have possibly left his house because of family dispute or stress could be the reason. However, they clearly denied the angle of kidnapping as claimed by his family members.
Medical dialogues team had earlier reported about the incident where a prominent doctor associated with the Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) Patna went missing last week and his family members suspect he has been kidnapped, but no ransom call has been received yet.
The missing doctor, Head of Department (HOD) of the Pharmacology Department of Nalanda Medical College (NMCH), informed his wife, an English professor in a degree college, that he was going to Muzaffarpur for some work. She had contacted him over the phone at 7.42 pm on Wednesday and he said that his car was stuck in a traffic jam on the Gandhi Setu. After that call, she tried to contact him several times but he was not picking up his phone.
Unverified videos on social media show cops surrounding a car allegedly belonging to the missing doctor, who as per reports, is suspected to have been kidnapped as claimed by his family, reports said.
According to reports, the doctor, Sanjay Kumar, head of the pharmacology department at the institute, was on his way to inspect the college when he allegedly went missing on Wednesday night.
More details are awaited.
