Odisha Govt doctor dismissed from service on corruption charges

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday dismissed a government doctor from service after he was convicted in a corruption case, a government statement said.
According to a statement, the CMO said that, continuing the state government’s tough stand against corruption, the chief minister has dismissed the doctor, former Medical Officer of Gurundia CHC, Sundergarh district. He is currently working at Gurundi CHC, Gajapati district.
The doctor, who served as a Medical Officer at Gurundia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sundargarh district, was found guilty of corruption-related charges during his tenure there.

It said that the doctor was found guilty of corruption charges while working in Gurundia, Sundargarh district. For this, the chief minister has dismissed the concerned doctor from government service, the statement said, reports PTI.
The Chief Minister has directed officials and administrative authorities at all levels to adopt zero tolerance towards corruption and take appropriate action against those found involved in such practices.
The government said the action underscores its commitment to maintaining accountability among public servants and ensuring that corruption does not go unchecked within the state administration.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a doctor and a Home Guard jawan have been booked in Jharkhand's Chatra district for allegedly demanding money from newly selected Home Guard recruits in exchange for medical fitness certificates. The allegations surfaced after candidates claimed they were asked to pay money during the ongoing recruitment medical examination.
According to reports, an FIR was registered at Chatra Sadar police station on Wednesday following directions from the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the chairman of the Home Guard Recruitment Committee.
