FIR Registered After Alleged Rape of Student by Doctor in Ooty
Udhagamandalam: In a disturbing incident in Ooty, a medical college student was allegedly sexually assaulted by a government doctor, who reportedly promised to help her pass her examinations. The accused was arrested by the Ooty all-women police team on Monday.
According to the news reports, the accused, who was working in the emergency ward of the Nilgiris Government Medical College and Hospital, allegedly approached the student, claiming he could use his influence with university authorities to secure passing marks. On this pretext, the student was reportedly lured to a private hotel, where the incident took place while she was under the influence of alcohol.
