Probe ordered after audio clip of UP doctor's alleged misconduct goes viral

Lucknow: A probe has been launched against a senior doctor from Sultanpur after an audio clip allegedly surfaced in which he is heard making inappropriate remarks and proposals to a female nurse.
According to news reports, in the audio clip, he can be heard reportedly asking the nurse to be friends with him, expressing his desire for love, and even offering to take full care of her and pay money if needed. The doctor can also be heard urging the woman to meet him, go shopping together, and “spend time” with him. When she refused, he allegedly went on to suggest that she introduce him to another woman, saying he would “bear all expenses.”
The audio clip is said to date back to the time when the doctor was posted as the superintendent at the Lambhua Community Health Centre (CHC).

The incident came to light after the nurse recorded the phone call conversation after feeling uncomfortable with the doctor's demands. In the call, the doctor made several attempts to convince her to enter into a relationship with him. However, the female nurse repeatedly refused his advances and stated that she would resign from her job but would not comply with his requests. Despite her resistance, the doctor allegedly continued to pressure her during the 20-minute conversation, as reported by Bhaskar.
After this, she filed a complaint with CMO, Dr Bharat Bhushan, who constituted an enquiry team to probe the matter after the audio clip became viral.
Speaking to India Today, Dr Bhushan said, "This case has come to our notice. A written complaint has been received, and an investigation team has been formed to record statements from both sides. Appropriate action will follow based on the findings."
Notably, the doctor was transferred from Lambhua CHC to Kadipur CHC earlier this month following allegations of negligence. The transfer came after a woman died at the Lambhua CHC on October 14, with the family accusing the doctor and staff of failing to provide proper treatment.
