Quack caught running illegal abortion clinic in Suryapet

Fake Doctor Busted in Telangana
Hyderabad: A Quack operating under the guise of a Rural Medical Practitioner (RMP) has been exposed in Tungaturthi, Suryapet district, for allegedly conducting illegal sex determination tests and abortions at an unregistered facility. The shocking revelation came to light after a pregnant woman died following a botched abortion procedure at his so-called clinic.
In response to the incident, the Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC) launched an investigation. During the inspection, officials found that for several years, the unlicensed practitioner had been running a facility named Sai Balaji Hospital, posing as a legitimate healthcare provider while conducting procedures prohibited under Indian law.

Dr. G. Srinivas, Vice Chairman, TGMC, said the local police are actively seeking to arrest the Rural Medical Practitioner (RMP) and further investigations will shed light on the total number of abortions he has performed over the past several years, reports Telangana Today.
According to local residents, complaints had previously been lodged against Srinivas with the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO), but no action was taken at the time.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Dr Srinivas said, “When contacted over the phone, the present DM&HO at Suryapet, Dr. Chandrasekhar, claimed he did not come across any complaints that were made in the past, since he has been appointed recently. He assured that strict action would be taken against the RMPs who perform illegal abortions, administer injections, or conduct operations.”
Legal proceedings have already begun, and a case has been registered against P. Srinivas under the applicable sections of the National Medical Commission Act (NMC).
