Rajasthan: 1715 newly appointed doctors select rural postings through online portal
Out of the newly recruited doctors, 943 have been posted at primary health centres (PHCs) and 772, including 112 specialists, have been posted at community health centres (CHCs). And, 39 specialist doctors have been deployed at sub-district hospitals.
Jaipur: The Rajasthan government, for the first time has allowed doctors in the state to select their posting through an online Rajhealth portal, with around 1715 doctors out of the recruited 1763 doctors set to join duty in rural Rajasthan by March 15.
The online portal is an innovation of the state government for an inter-departmental end-to-end solution and is designed and developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) Rajasthan.

The doctors have been given postings in the rural areas for the benefit of the patients in the rural areas so that they would not have to cover long distances for availing treatment.
Speaking to TOI, Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, director (health), health department, said, "Through the online platform, selected candidates were asked to fill their choices of posting. The joining of the doctors will also be done through the same portal."

The district hospitals have been appointed with nine specialist doctors, including two super specialists. According to health department officials, the newly posted 1,715 doctors in rural areas would strengthen the healthcare facilities for the patients.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the Rajasthan government's initiative to expand facilities at the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences and the College of Dental Sciences by approving over Rs 90 crores. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had approved Rs 91.49 crore for various works and setting up of medical facilities. Rs 15.55 crore was reserved for building a hostel for 180 women students and Rs 13.39 crore for a hostel (studio apartments) for 70 residents of the College of Dental Sciences in Jaipur.
