Rajasthan doctors demand release of merit list for Medical Officers Recruitment exam
Jaipur: In a recent letter, doctors in Rajasthan have urged the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) to release the combined merit list of the Medical Officer Recruitment Exam 2024.
The doctors stated that although the written exam results have been announced, the combined merit list, which includes the ranks and roll numbers of all candidates, has not yet been made public. This has created confusion among many candidates.
The letter, signed by several senior members of the United Doctors Front (UDF), Rajasthan, emphasised that the entire recruitment process was smooth and transparent, but the absence of the merit list has raised unnecessary doubts. They argued that releasing the merit list would bring clarity to the candidates.

Further, the association referred to a Rajasthan High Court order, which, during the hearing of a related case concerning the Medical Officer Recruitment Exam 2024, clearly stated that the court has not issued any directive to halt the ranking or publication of the combined merit list of all candidates who appeared in the exam.
"In this context, during the hearing of a related case regarding the Medical Officer Recruitment Exam 2024, the Hon'ble Rajasthan High Court has clearly stated in its order dated 19.05.2025 that no order has been passed by the court to stop the ranking and publication of the combined merit list of all the candidates who appeared in the exam.
Therefore, in the interest of the candidates and for transparency and fairness, the combined merit list of all the candidates, including rank and roll number, should be published immediately. This would not only ensure transparency on the university's part but also prevent unnecessary speculation and misinformation. In this matter, taking prompt and just action by releasing the combined merit list will help establish trust in the examination process and the administrative system," the letter reads.
The doctors, in conclusion, have urged RUHS to publish the combined merit list on its official website as soon as possible and to issue a public notice about it.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that following a meeting with a delegation of doctors, Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena responded positively to the demand for increasing the medical officer posts in the ongoing recruitment. The Minister responded positively and has written to the Chief Minister, recommending an increase in the sanctioned posts. This follows a formal request by the United Doctors Front (UDF), which highlighted the shortage of doctors in the state and called for an increase in the number of medical officer posts from 1,700 to 2,550.
