Thiruvananthapuram: In an unfortunate incident, a 30-year-old senior resident female doctor of Government Medical College (GMC) Thiruvananthapuram allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with anaesthesia at her rented apartment at PT Chacko Nagar, Ulloor on Tuesday.
In a suicide note, the doctor stated that that no one else was responsible for her death and that she was ending her life as she was fed up of life.
According to the police, the doctor is reported to have died due to an alleged drug overdose as they found syringes lying near her dead body. However, the police are yet to confirm the reports.
The deceased was working as a senior resident doctor in the Department of General Medicine at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College where she completed her MBBS. She married four months ago to a doctor and was a resident of Vellanadu.

Her body was discovered by her flat owner who broke open the door and found her lying on the bed unconscious. As per the Onmanorama news reports, she locked herself inside the room after having lunch. Her mother who was trying to reach her but failed contacted the flat owner to check up on her.
However, when the flat owner reached the room, he discovered the shocking incident. Immediately, the doctor was taken to Government Medical College Hospital where she was declared dead.
Upon getting information, the police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation where they found the syringe and the suicide note. To preserve additional evidence, the police sealed her room.
According to her relations, the doctor was active in communication with her parents and had talked with her husband a day before she took the extreme step. It was alleged that she never shared or communicated about any issue.
The cops sent her body for postmortem at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and preliminary reports indicate that she killed herself by injecting a high dose of anaesthesia.
