RIMS Adilabad doctor arrested on charges of sexual harassment

Adilabad: A doctor from the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad was arrested on Tuesday evening on charges of sexually harassing a woman in the Echoda mandal centre.
According to the news reports, the 45-year-old doctor, a resident of Echoda, allegedly harassed a woman for four months under the guise of intending to marry her. The incident came to light after the woman’s father filed a complaint with the local police.
Following the complaint, police took the doctor into custody. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of his actions.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a disturbing incident from Tamil Nadu, a 25-year-old female dentist was allegedly assaulted by a male colleague after she repeatedly rejected his marriage proposals. The attack left the doctor with serious injuries on her face, neck, arms, and other parts of her body. She is currently receiving treatment at the Hosur Government Hospital, and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The victim, a recent dental graduate and a resident of Sanasandiram near Hosur, began working at the private dental clinic opposite the Hosur Government Hospital about six weeks ago. The clinic is owned by the accused, who also works as a duty doctor at another private hospital in the area.
