Sambhal: Police in Sambhal have taken into custody a doctor from Vinayak Hospital in the Bahjoi area for allegedly posting objectionable edited images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media on Friday.

The accused has been identified as a doctor who works at Vinayak Hospital in the Bahjoi area. Police have seized his mobile phone and begun examining his social media accounts. Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) personnel and other intelligence agencies have also become involved in gathering further information about him.
The doctor is originally a resident of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and has been living in Bahjoi since 2023. He reportedly completed his MBBS degree in China and resides on the upper floor of the hospital building where he works.
His wife has also been staying with him for the past two to three months.
According to Inspector Sant Kumar, the doctor has been detained for questioning, and further action will be taken based on directives from senior officials. The investigation is ongoing.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that an Indian-origin British doctor, currently serving as a consultant with the National Health Service (NHS), has been stranded in Mumbai for nearly three months after the Mumbai Police issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him over a social media post targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a result of travel restrictions, the UK-based physician has been unable to return home and resume his professional responsibilities.
