Telangana: Govt doctor demands bribe for issuing health certificate, suspended
Parigi: A doctor associated with the Parigi Government hospital has been suspended for allegedly demanding a bribe for issuing a health certificate for the driving license.
And he was showing alleged negligence towards his duty for being unpunctual following a surprise inspection of the hospital by the Health Minister of the state.
As per a media report in Hans India, the Parigi Government hospital doctor was suspended by District official Pradeep Kumar for being irregular in attending his duty, said the sources.

Health minister T Harish Rao had earlier in the day, paid a surprise visit to the Kondapur Area hospital, where he had interacted with the patients.
During the interaction, the minister asked a patient about the facilities and issues he might be facing in the hospital, to which the person reportedly told the minister the incident regarding the doctor asking for money for issuing a health certificate for the driving license.
After hearing the complaint, the minister enquired about the incident immediately. He suspended the accused doctor for allegedly demanding a bribe from that person.
Further, the minister warned the hospital authorities of severe action if they were found in a similar situation.
Meanwhile, he also interacted with the patients and assured them of all possible facilities in the hospital. He then inspected the hospital and the premises as well. Further, the reports of the hospital were also examined by the minister, reports the Hans India.
The Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar story where a surprise visit was made to the government-run Victoria Hospital by Upa Lokayukta Justice B.S. Patil who found doctors in the hospital not attending to the patients properly and the place was unhygienic as well as unorganized. Additionally, the pharmacy was not functioning properly, used bottles were not disposed of properly, and ambulances were parked haphazardly on the hospital grounds. Justice Patil used his suo motu powers under Section 7(2) and 9(3)(a) of the Karnataka Lokayukta Act, 1984, to order the Director-cum-Dean of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and medical superintendent of Victoria Hospital to probe the deficiencies and take correct actions.
