Telangana Medical Council cracks down on 4 clinics run by 5 Quacks

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Medical Council (TGMC) has uncovered illegal medical practices during a series of raids in Station Ghanpur, Jangaon district. Four clinics were found operating without qualified medical professionals.
As soon as news of the inspections spread, five quacks shut down their clinics and absconded. According to TGMC officials, cases will be registered against all ten quacks for unauthorised medical practice and endangering public health.
One of the most alarming case involved a BHMS-qualified homoeopath, who was found operating a clinic illegally under the name of a retired Army officer. He was reportedly prescribing antipsychotic medications and antibiotics. TGMC officials plan to escalate the matter to the AYUSH Ministry, questioning the misuse of allopathic drugs by an AYUSH practitioner.

Another major irregularity was uncovered at Glory Diagnostics, a diagnostic centre allegedly run by unqualified staff in the absence of an MD in Pathology. According to TGMC, the pathologist rarely visited the facility, leaving operations in the hands of technicians who conducted tests, charged exorbitant fees, and paid commissions to RMPs (Registered Medical Practitioners) for patient referrals.
In a third case, two brothers from Shivunipalli were found to be posing as doctors. Despite lacking any medical qualifications, they were prescribing antibiotics, ordering blood tests, and administering steroid injections. The duo is also accused of receiving referral commissions from the diagnostic centre under investigation.
In a separate case on Palkurthi Road, where an alleged quack was found prescribing antibiotics and injecting steroids to patients under the pretence of modern medical treatment, despite having no medical qualifications.
