Telangana Medical Council raids uncover illegal allopathy practice at 3 clinics

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on unauthorised medical practice, the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) raided three allopathic clinics in Saidabad and Singareni Colony on Friday, exposing practitioners who were allegedly practising allopathic medicine illegally and displaying false qualifications.
The surprise inspections, conducted on June 26, identified three clinics—Srinivasa Medical and General Clinic, Hanumant Nayak Clinic, and DRK Clinic—allegedly operating in violation of medical regulations.
According to the TGMC, Srinivasa Medical & General Clinic was allegedly providing allopathic medical services without recognised medical qualifications. Hanumanth Naik Clinic was also allegedly providing allopathic treatment without the necessary qualifications or permission. At DRK Clinic, officials found that its practitioner, who holds a BAMS degree, was practising modern medicine without authorisation, reports The Hindu.
The TGMC stated that the accused were endangering public health by indiscriminately administering steroids, painkillers, antibiotic injections, and Schedule-H drugs without following established medical guidelines. Such practices can pose serious health risks to patients and violate medical regulations.
The council has appealed to the public to consult only qualified doctors registered with the Telangana Medical Council and warned that strict action will be taken against those who display unrecognised qualifications, false degrees, and provide medical services without permission, according to the Siasat Daily.
The council has urged citizens to report fake doctors and illegal medical practice by contacting its helpline at 9154382727.
TGMC reiterated its commitment to protecting public health through regular inspections and stringent enforcement against unauthorised medical practitioners across the state.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the Telangana Medical Council continued its statewide crackdown on quackery and illegal medical practice by conducting inspections in Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy districts and identifying 12 unauthorised clinics and first aid centres allegedly operating without valid qualifications or legal authorisation. The latest action comes days after the Council booked 11 alleged quacks during inspections in Nizamabad on May 9.
