Telangana to recruit 1,623 Specialist Doctors

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced the recruitment of 1,623 specialist doctors for hospitals under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP). The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) issued the official notification, acting on the directives of Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narsimha.

According to the officials, the notification was issued on Friday. With this recruitment, the number of specialist doctors in hospitals under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) is set to increase significantly. Medical services at district hospitals, area hospitals, and community health centres are expected to improve further. Speciality medical services will become more accessible to rural areas, reports the Hans India.
Applications for the posts of Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialists in TVVP and Medical Officer Specialists in Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) are now invited online through the MHSRB website:https://mhsrb.telangana.gov.in
- Start Date for Online Application: September 8, 2025
- Last Date for Submission: September 22, 2025, by 5 PM
- Application Edit Window: September 23 (from 10:30 AM) to September 24 (till 5 PM)
- Note: Candidates must apply separately for each post if applying for more than one.
This initiative is part of the Telangana government’s broader efforts to strengthen the public health infrastructure. So far, nearly 8,000 posts have already been filled in the health department, with recruitment for another 7,000 underway.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the medical fraternity in Telangana has urged the state government to introduce a structured annual recruitment plan for appointing doctors and professors in government medical colleges. The demand stems from growing concerns over inconsistent hiring practices that are reportedly weakening medical education and public healthcare services.
