Thane doctor hires gunmen to fire at rival doctor's car, Four accused arrested
Thane: The Thane police have arrested four persons in connection with the firing at a doctor's car in the Murbad area. It has been revealed that one doctor hired gunmen to fire at the rival doctor's vehicle with the intention of intimidating and driving him out of the neighborhood.
The car of Dr Ravishankar Pal, who owns a hospital in Saralgaon, was fired upon by unidentified persons on July 1, the Murbad police station police official said on Sunday.

According to a PTI report, he said, "We found the firing was a fallout of professional rivalry between two doctors. Our probe zeroed in on main accused Dr Ramchandra Bhoir, who is on the run".
Four persons identified as Suresh Okhore, Bhushan Pawar, Gaurav Tungar and Dnyaneshwar Sable were held on Saturday, while one Vijay Wagh is wanted in the case, the official added.
As per a media report in the HT, an officer said, “It is important to note that one of the arrested accused Gaurav Tungar, who worked as a compounder at Dr Pal’s clinic, was reprimanded several times by him due to irregularities in his work. An enraged Tungar allied with Dr Bhoir and Pal’s driver, Sable, to conspire against him”.
The police said Okhore and Pawar were instructed to carry out the shooting and Gaurav obtained a country-made firearm from Vijay Wagh and provided it to the two shooters. On the day of the incident, on July 1, Dr Pal parked his car in front of Shri Krishna Hospital and left for work. In the evening, Okhore and Pawar, riding on a motorcycle, fired shots at the car and fled.
Based on technical analysis and information from informants, it has been confirmed that the crime was committed by the arrested suspects Suresh Pundalik Okhore and Bhushan alias Bablya Pundalik Pawar. During their interrogation, they admitted that the crime was carried out at the direction of the arrested compounder Gaurav Tungar and driver Jnaneshwar alias Bala Jaywant Sable.
