Tripura: Two minor siblings dies, On duty doctor allegedly thrashed by mob
Agartala: Following the death of two minor patients, a mob of villagers vandalized the Manikpur Primary Health Center in the Dhalai district of Tripura and allegedly thrashed an on-duty doctor.
The deceased have been identified as 8-years-old Darmita and 5-year-old Dharmanjay. The victim has been identified as Dr. Pranab Debbarma.
The incident took place on Wednesday, Darmita and Dharmanjay were suffering from high fever and were admitted to the hospital. It has been claimed by the family members of the deceased that both the children were given medicines from the hospital and after consuming the pill, they both died within a few hours.

As per NN Sources, it was later found that both the deceased children were suffering from malaria.
Angered by the situation, the mob of villagers went to the hospital and thrashed the doctor mercilessly. As a result, the doctor is in a critical situation as he suffered serious head injuries as well as other parts of the body.
Hearing the news, the local MLA rushed to the spot and calmed things down. The mob of villagers assaulted the doctor again as soon as the MLA left from there.
According to an official, the hospital staff immediately rushed to the spot, and the doctor was taken to Chailengta hospital. Doctors there referred him to GBP hospital in Agartala, Tripura for better treatment.
Later, police were informed of the situation. The police took note of the doctor's side of the story which he alleged that he tried to convince the parents to shift the ailing kids to a different hospital, but they refused. Soon both the kids died and the family members began asking him the reason, to which he said that due to the late arrival for treatment led to this situation.
