Panchkula: Four persons including two doctors and employees belonging to the Council of Indian Medicine in Haryana have been booked by police for issuing fake and bogus certificates.
Allegedly, these four accused persons used to issue several academic certificates including MBBS course certificates. Police have booked them under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, and 12b of the IPC.
These four accused have been identified as Mahender Kumar of Hisar, Dr. Bansal of Chandigarh, Dr. Naveen and Karan Sarna hailing from Ambala city. Among them, Mahender has offered to be an approver and he has also submitted all documents to the Council urging them to recover the money collected by the accused in exchange for providing fake medical certificates.
It has been alleged by Mahender that Dr. Bansal practices in Chandigarh and Dr. Naveen, Karan Sarma work in the council. He has submitted that these doctors and another person unknown to him are involved in the practice of issuing academic certificates in exchange for money.
As per the latest media report by Hindustan Times, the Registrar of the Council of Haryana Indian Medicine, Dr. Dinesh Sharma had lodged a complaint in December 2022 in this regard. In his complained, Dr. Sharma had submitted that back in August 2022 and October 2022, he had received two letters from the Hisar drugs control officer for the purpose of verifying a registration certificate issued by the Council in April 2022. After checking the certificate, it was found to be fake and bogus.
Dr. Sharma had further alleged that Mahender had informed them that around five to six years back, his son had applied for NEET entrance test. Mahender had allegedly informed the Council in a Statement that Dr Bansal from Chandigarh had contacted and assured him that they could ensure that his son gets his BAMS done from Haryana State and they would prepare an original certificate for the same.
However, in exchange, they had demanded Rs 10 lakh, out of which Rs 5 lakh was to be paid immediately and the rest of the amount after getting the certificates.
Accordingly, certificates of BAMS first, second and third professional year of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, along with a registration certificate with the Council of Indian Medicine in Haryana was issued by these doctors back in April 2022. These documents had been handed over to Mahender at Majri Chowk in Panchkula by Dr Naveen and Dr Bansal after Mahender completed the payment of Rs 10 lakh.
Further, Mahender had alleged that the accused had also issued certificates to several persons and Dr. Naveen used to even claim that he could also provide MBBS course certificates as well.
