Rajkot: In a tragic incident, a gynecologist injured in a terrible road accident succumbed to his injuries on Thursday in a hospital in Bhuj, Kutch.
The gynecologist along with his colleague met with an road accident near Kukma village on Wednesday.
The victims have been identified as a 24-year-old gynecologist and a 24 years old pediatrician. The doctors were colleagues and they were working at the Rambaug Government Hospital in Gandhidham for the last couple of years.
The doctors were travelling on a motorcycle to Gandhidham from Bhuj late night on Wednesday. However, when they reached near Kukma village suddenly their bike collided with a truck that was coming from the opposite direction, reports Time of India.
Immediately after the accident, the doctors were rescued, and they were rushed to a government hospital in Bhuj. Despite the desperate attempt, the gynecologist could not be saved and he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday afternoon. As far as the pediatrician is concerned, the police informed that he was transferred to a hospital in Morbi for further treatment.
According to police, the deceased was a native of Zavadar village in Talaja taluka of Bhavnagar. He belonged to a humble background and his father is a farmer. The untimely death of the doctor has brought grief into the medical community.
