As per reports, the doctor identified as Dr Gorakh Yadav is a resident of Harkhauli village of Lar area in Deoria. He does private practice and runs a medical store at the crossroads. The child who was killed has been identified as Sanskar Yadav, one of the doctor's four children.
The incident took place when Sanskar went to the teacher's house in the village on Wednesday evening for his tuition classes. However, the family members became upset and began looking for him when he didn't return after a while. Sanskar's sister had also gone to the teacher's house to enquire about their brother. However, the teacher said that Sanskar did not come for tuition that day.
After that, the news about Sanskar's disappearance spread around the village and residents began searching for him. While looking for the child, they found a paper in the field on the south side of the village with a threatening message, which stated that Gorakh Yadav needed to arrange Rs 5 lakh or else his only son would not be set free. The kidnapper asked the doctor to arrange the money and threatened to kill the child otherwise.
When they found the letter, the family members of the child told the local police about it. On the basis of Yadav's complaint, the police registered a case and began an investigation. The investigation led the police to the grandson of Sanskar's tuition teacher. The police took him into custody and began questioning him, following which he told them the truth. From the information that the accused gave, the child's body was recovered from a toilet at the door of the teacher's house.
The Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma told Daily Pioneer that they have begun questioning the accused to find out about others involved in the killing and the motive behind killing the child.
