UP: Dermatologist accused of inappropriately touching patient acquitted after preliminary investigation
Shahjahanpur: A dermatologist at a private nursing home in Uttar Pradesh has been acquitted following accusations of inappropriate touching by a woman patient. The police analysed the CCTV camera footage and conducted a preliminary investigation.
The allegations surfaced from a widely circulated video on social media, in which the woman claimed that the dermatologist had touched her inappropriately during an examination.
According to the PTI report, Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said on Saturday that the woman accused the doctor of inappropriately touching her on the pretext of examining her.

The police conducted an immediate investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage, which revealed that the dermatologist examined the patient from outside the examination room.
The dermatologist said the patient came on Tuesday with a skin problem and was examined by a woman employee in the cabin. During this time, the woman’s husband was also present.
The doctor said he inspected the woman with a magnifying lens from outside the cabin.
After the examination, the woman took the medicine and left. She came back after half an hour and created a ruckus in the nursing home, alleging that the dermatologist had inappropriately touched her, news agency PTI reported.
Meena, the police superintendent, said a meeting was held with District Magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh and the nursing home owners and instructions were issued to keep the CCTV cameras installed on the premises operational.
A team has been formed to inspect the nursing home from time to time, he added.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that asserting that the victim's testimony was inconsistent and unreliable, a Delhi Court acquitted a dentist of a charge of raping a woman in April 2018. The court further declared that the prosecution had not succeeded in proving its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
