UP doctor assaulted, threatened for refusing to join Cockroach Janta Party
Mau: In a shocking incident, a government doctor was allegedly assaulted and threatened inside a Community Health Centre (CHC) in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district after refusing to join the "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP), a group that has gained attention on social media.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the CHC located at Majhwara Mod in the Ghosi Kotwali area.

Police said a man, who claimed to be a member of the Cockroach Janta Party, visited the centre for an ECG examination and later allegedly urged the doctor to join the party. When the doctor declined, citing restrictions on government employees participating in political activities, an argument ensued, they said, reports PTI.
The complainant, a government physician posted at the facility, alleged that the accused entered his chamber around 10 am while he was attending to patients. After undergoing the ECG test, the man allegedly introduced himself as an office-bearer of the Cockroach Janta Party and urged the doctor to become a member.
The doctor said he declined the offer, explaining that government employees are prohibited from participating in political activities. According to the complaint, the refusal angered the accused, who allegedly assaulted the doctor, vandalised furniture and medical equipment inside the chamber, and fled the scene after issuing death threats.
Recounting the episode, the doctor claimed the man entered his chamber under the pretext of seeking treatment and began speaking about the party's agenda. "He said they were associated with the Cockroach Party and wanted to overthrow the government, and asked me to join them. I told him to discuss his medical issue or leave the chamber. After that, he slapped me and started vandalising the room," the doctor alleged, reports ABP Live.
Police have identified the accused, a resident of the Ghosi area. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Anoop Kumar, the accused had visited the health centre after experiencing breathing difficulties and underwent a medical examination there.
During treatment, he allegedly began discussing a political organisation and attempted to persuade the doctor to become involved. When the doctor clarified that he could not participate in political activities because he was a government servant, an argument broke out between the two, reports ABP Live.
Police said an FIR has been registered and a search operation is underway to trace the accused. Officials have assured that he will be arrested and produced before a court once located.
The incident triggered outrage among doctors and hospital staff, who later approached the local police station and demanded strict action against the accused.
