Raipur: Introducing a new set of rules for the newly appointed doctors, Chhattisgarh Health Department has made it clear that the doctors will have to return back the salary and allowances in case they leave their job midway or they are terminated from service before the three-year probation period is over.
Not only this, the Government rules further state that during the first year of probation, the doctors will only receive only 70 per cent of their salary, and this will be increased to 80 per cent in the second year and 90 per cent in the third year.
It is only after completing their three-year probation period that the doctors will receive their full salary, the rules clarified.
Such pre-conditions have been set by the Chhattisgarh health department while it recently published the selection list for doctors against an advertisement that was made earlier.
The State Health Department had issued the advertisement to recruit doctors for 1150 posts. However only 599 doctors got selected and the there remained vacancies in the rest of the posts.
Finally, when the State published the selection list, it mentioned a set of pre-conditions and directions. As per the latest media report by the Times of India, these pre-conditions included the fact that the doctors will be liable to return their salary and allowance if they quit their job midway or in case they get fired before the completion of the probation period.
Mentioning that these conditions have been set on the basis of the guidelines issued by the general administration department, the principal secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Maninder Kaur Dwivedi told TOI, "These conditions are not new. Similar conditions were there even during the past appointments."
