100-Bed Block at Civil Hospital Set to meet Rising healthcare demands

100-Bed Block at Civil Hospital Nears Completion in Gurgaon
Gurugram: The much-awaited expansion of Civil Hospital is on track, with the likelihood of the 100-bed block being ready by next year. The Public Works Department (PWD) has invited tenders for the fifth floor, with the contract expected to be awarded within the next 15 days.
Construction is set to begin within a month after the tender process is finalized, bringing the project closer to completion. Currently, around 80% of the work has been completed, with the hospital reaching the fourth floor of the new block. This expansion is part of a long-term strategy to address the hospital's overcrowding and enhance patient care.

The original plan for the construction, which was budgeted at Rs 90 crore, was expected to be completed by January 2024. However, as of now, the construction is still ongoing, with roughly 60% of the work completed. In November 2019, Rs 47 crore was allocated to the project, but the remaining Rs 43 crore necessary for completion has not yet been provided by the government as of 2024.
