2 clinics sealed in Yadgir for allegedly operating without valid licences

Sealed
Yadgir: The Karnataka Health Department has sealed two clinics for allegedly operating without valid licences or qualified medical practitioners in Yaragol village of Yadgir taluk following a surprise inspection on Saturday.
The action followed specific information received by officials about the unauthorised medical establishments. A joint team comprising representatives of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Yadgir unit, and the taluk health administration conducted the inspection to verify the clinics’ credentials and compliance with medical regulations.
During the inspection, officials reportedly found that both establishments were functioning without the necessary medical licences and lacked qualified practitioners to provide healthcare services. The authorities subsequently ordered the immediate closure of both establishments, citing concerns over the risks posed to patients seeking treatment at the facilities.
Cases have also been registered against the operators under the relevant legal provisions. The action is intended to prevent unqualified individuals from providing medical care and to address the risks associated with unauthorised healthcare facilities.
The inspection team was led by the president of the IMA’s Yadgir unit and the Yadgir Taluk Health Officer. The joint operation reflects coordination between the medical association and the district health administration to identify and take action against establishments allegedly violating healthcare regulations, The Hindu reported.
Following the operation, the district health authorities warned that enforcement measures would continue against clinics functioning without the required approvals and individuals practising medicine without appropriate qualifications.
The administration has emphasised the need to prevent unauthorised medical practice, which can expose patients to inappropriate treatment, incorrect diagnoses and other avoidable health risks.
The action in Yaragol comes amid efforts by health authorities to monitor medical establishments and ensure that healthcare services are provided by appropriately qualified practitioners in accordance with applicable regulations.
