2 North Delhi Hospitals hit by Cyber Attack

New Delhi: The Delhi Police have initiated a probe into a cyber attack targeting the servers of two hospitals in North Delhi- Parmanand Multi-Superspeciality Hospital in Civil Lines and NKS Superspeciality Hospital in Gulabi Bagh, police sources said on Friday.
According to the sources, the incident occurred on June 11, and it was reported to the police immediately.

However, no immediate response was received from the hospitals management about the hacking.
According to sources, the hospital staff initially believed the disruption to be a technical glitch. However, a deeper probe by IT teams confirmed that it was a deliberate cyberattack. Following this, both hospitals alerted the police, reports TOI.
The breach occurred during the intervening night of June 10-11. The hospital said that it had activated manual systems to continue providing essential services. Sant Parmanand Hospital's statement was awaited.
Police have roped in technical experts to trace the origin of the cyber attack and identify those responsible, news agency PTI reported.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi experienced significant disruptions in its services after a server breakdown brought online operations to a standstill. The hospital, which relies heavily on the National Informatics Centre’s (NIC) eHospital server for all digital procedures, was left scrambling to maintain patient care as the system went offline earlier in the day.
The unexpected technical issue has caused considerable inconvenience, particularly impacting the Outpatient Department (OPD) sections. According to India.com, new patients seeking admission or checkups faced delays as online ticketing services were rendered unavailable. In response to the crisis, AIIMS has shifted to offline methods for patient prescriptions and other essential services, working to ensure that medical care continues despite the challenges.
