200-bed Hospital to come up in Ranchi, to cost Rs 300 crore

Ranchi: Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, on Friday, laid the foundation stone for a 200-bed super speciality hospital in Jharkhand. The Rs 300-crore project, which is being funded by Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is set to significantly improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.

The hospital will be built on a 5.5-acre plot provided by the Jharkhand government near RINPAS in Kanke block.

“This hospital will provide high-quality healthcare services to the state’s people. The Centre is committed to uplifting the standard of living of people by focusing on health, education, and infrastructure,” the minister for coal and mines said, news agency PTI reported.

The hospital, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in cardiology, pulmonology, and neurology, aims to provide advanced healthcare services to the people of Jharkhand and neighbouring states, CCL officials said.

Construction will commence in June with a completion target of two years, they added.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the need to create an integrated health circuit connecting all medical colleges, hospitals, and district health facilities across the state to enhance healthcare services. The proposed circuit would help shift patients from one hospital to another as per the need and it would reduce the pressure of patients in one health facility, he said.

The chief minister, in a review meeting with health department officials, said that providing the best facilities to the people of the state was his government's commitment.
