200-bedded Mother and Child ward at Tanda named after GS Bali

Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh government has named the newly constructed 200 bedded Mother and Child Hospital in Dr R.P. Government Medical College at Tanda in Kangra district.

Dr Bhanu Awasthi, Principal Dr RPGM College Tanda, said this at a press conference in his office.

Dr Bhanu further said that this hospital was completed at the cost of Rs 40 Crores. He said that the Mother and Child Hospital has been completed and the different medical equipments have reached the hospital and are gradually being installed in the hospital.

He disclosed that this mother and child hospital has been named after the former Transport and Technical Education Minister, Late Shri G.S. Bali. He said that the state government has issued a notification in this regard.

He said that the hospital will be dedicated to the people after two and a half months.

He said that this medical college was started in 1996 and different buildings and Roads in the campus are named after different personalities.

In reply to a question, Dr Bhanu said that the shortage of the staff has been communicated to the government and hoped that shortly these posts will be filled.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Himachal Pradesh's State Environment Impact Assessment Authority had granted environmental clearance for the construction of PGI Satellite Hospital in the Una district. A residential complex for doctors and paramedical staff would also be built. The foundation stone of the PGI Satellite Hospital was laid in Una on March 7, 2019. A tender had been issued for the construction of the hospital for which 402 kanals of land have been allotted in Mahalat village.
